Mike is a recognized leader in the energy industry with extensive leadership and management experience in finance, development, operations, regulatory, and ESG.

For nearly twenty years, he served as Senior Vice President of Nextera Energy Resources at Nextera Energy, where he led the company's renewable energy program and managed asset mergers and acquisitions (M&A), which involved deploying approximately $40 billion USD across more than 250 solar, wind, storage, nuclear, and fossil fuel projects across 36 states and 4 provinces in Canada.

Prior to joining Nextera, Mike served as Vice President of AES Corp's Midwest Division, Vice President of NRG Energy, Vice President of Indeck Energy, Director of Development for Homart (Sears's subsidiary, Roebuck), and Supervising Engineer at the Dresden Nuclear Power Plant for Commonwealth Edison.

Mike holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame (1982) and an MBA from the University of Chicago (1987).
