Hired by Pomerleau in 1998, Sébastien Simard quickly became an essential resource for the group, particularly in the realization of civil projects. In 2007, he was appointed Project Director for Pomerleau and Borea Construction. Between 2008 and 2009, he was called upon by Pomerleau to manage several major bridge construction and rehabilitation projects. In 2012, he was promoted to Construction Manager of Borea Construction and in 2015, he became Vice President of Borea.
Mr. Simard has extensive experience as a civil project manager and director. As Project Director for Pomerleau, he was called upon to lead phases 2 and 3 of the Laviolette Bridge project between Trois-Rivières and Bécancour. These highly technical phases required excellent traffic control that had to be maintained, a challenge that Mr. Simard adeptly managed throughout. In addition to this, he successfully led the construction efforts for the Petite-Nation River Bridge on Highway 50, the Major Bridge on Highway 148 in Gatineau, as well as the major rehabilitation of the Alexandra Bridge between Gatineau and Ottawa.
As Project Director, Construction Director, and Vice-President Construction at Borea, he successfully led more than thirty wind farm projects with a total value of nearly $2.2 billion. He has led two large-scale wind projects: the Seigneurie de Beaupré wind farm project in Quebec ($357 million) and the Niagara wind farm project in Ontario ($248 million).
An outstanding manager, Sébastien Simard always ensures that the project meets the client's expectations both in terms of budget, schedule and quality. He leads his team with aplomb and professionalism, fostering effective teamwork.
